July 2003 - May 2004

The first incarnation of Unitzoid.com was fairly sparse. A few articles pertaining to daily life were posted and the artwork section rarely saw an update. This design relied heavily on simple HTML tables, something that would plague the next two versions.

May 2004 - November 2004

Mid 2004 saw the introduction of salad dressing reviews prompted by the high price of Wishbone Russian. Most were rather silly but fairly critiqued according to density, spice, sweetness, paletability and what percentage match it was with Russian. Analysis Paralysis, a comic parodying features around the local college campus, was uploaded to the website at this time.

November 2004 - September 2005

This version of Unitzoid was prepared specifically for the introduction of a Unitzoid comic, a project that never fully materialized. Information was better categorized and the artwork/sketches section actually saw updates during this period. The last news post was made on June 12, 2005, stating that major changes and website work were on the horizon. And then real life intervened . . .

September 2005 - May 2007

The solid blue of the development page in many ways resembled a tombstone. Unitzoid seemed dead for a long time with empty promises of progress. A website design could not be decided upon and the months simply rolled by. The next incarnation of the website would not start materializing until March of 2007.

June 2007 - Present

Then, on June 1, 2007, after numerous delays and over a year of down time, Unitzoid reappeared. Over thirty different designs were considered and sketched, and even the decided redesign was tweaked and altered during the creation process. PHP was chosen to carry the load and automate a lot of the processes that kept updates from happening as frequently. Blog and gallery software was coded from scratch to meet the design specifications, and fonts not standard were provided free courtesy of the Emerald City Fontwerks.
